Intrigued.

October 28, 2008

I am intrigued by this pea coat. I adore that color. I could totally see it with some Audrey Hepburn-style black ankle pants and ballet flats. But Old Navy is the type of place you really need to see the stuff in person. And since I don't really get out of the house to shop much (being that I am with two ankle biters most of the time), I guess I'd better pass.

  1. This might be worth the trip to the store. Two of my friends have amazing coats they got at ON. I was shocked when they told me where they were from.

  3. Or better yet, on the strength of that endorsement, go ahead and order it. Quick, before I do. :)

  4. I usually think that their coats or sweaters are an easy buy it's the pants & dresses that I'm on the fence about. Order it I know it's gonna fit.

  5. That color is so much fun! And the cut looks so swingy. But I'm with you on being suspicious of Old Navy. Haven't we all been burned by their dubious quality and fit just one too many times? Though I admit to liking their socks and PJ's quite a bit :)

P.S. Believe it or not, those pumpkin scones are even better after they've sat for 24 hours. Let me know how you like them if you give the recipe a try!

  6. Order it ... That is the kind of thing ON can be great at. I just got (yesterday) a fabulous coat from Target -- brown corduroy with a dark blue-green lining, double-breasted but with a trench tie. $40!!!!! I wish I could link to it but I'm posting from my phone... I love cheap-but-stylish coats in Sam Diego because they don't need to hold up to a lot of wear and tear, just look good!

  8. I just bought a similar pea coat by ON. It is the same color, but slightly different cut, sort of vintage as they called it. I did have a hard time choosing the size (whether to get a small or medium). The small's arms were slightly too short, but the medium was not nearly as flattering in the body. My husband and I came to the conclusion from that coat, a sweater I tried on, and two shirts that he tried on that Old Navy clothes just aren't tailored for slendor people, which was why I couldn't find the "perfect fit" like I would be able to with a higher quality brand that are usually tailored more. However, I still LOVED the coat, and for $90 I was willing to have the sleeves a tiny bit shorter than I would like them... but I would recommend trying it on rather than ordering blindly.
