I was recently reminded of
Dr. Scholl's wood sandals after a visit with my stylish friend
Krista. They looked so cute and comfy on her, and so I just had to get myself a pair. These shoes are sort of 70s, but in a good way...didn't your mom wear them?? Also, these were the shoes I was wearing when I met B that day in the lobby.... so I have a soft spot in my heart for them.
Man, I love these. I had a pair of hot pink ones and wore them in the ground. So cute.
ReplyDeleteI would always smash the edge of my heel on the wood ends. Excruciating, but so hip.
ReplyDeleteI love Dr. Scholls and went through a big phase of wearing them about five years ago but I haven't seen them for sale lately - where did you find these?
ReplyDeleteduh - just clicked on the link! I will have to check it out. Good to know they have a whole website!
ReplyDeleteP: unfortunately, I don't think they mak the hot pink amymore. ;)
ReplyDeletejake: yes, there is the issue of the smashing of the heel....no running in the shoes, please.
aliceq: the internet, baby.
Those Dr. Scholls will never go out of style, but they may come and go in trendiness. I too was wearing them about 5 years ago. And of course, I remember my camp counselors wearing them in the late 70s. I thought those girls were so cool! I wanted to be like them when I grew up.
ReplyDeleteI love your blog. Thank you for sharing.

jbhat: Yes, I met B and was wearing these last about 6 years ago. You could get them at Macy's. Now, not so much. But that is what we have the internet for!
ReplyDeletei totally wore these in high school and college! maybe i need a new pair too...
ReplyDeletebad internet always tempting me to buy new things.
These are a staple in my closet. I have a pair of white and find myself reaching for them often. I have a thing about white shoes and struggle to find an acceptable pair--but not these. They are classic and timeless in my book. Love em!
ReplyDeletekay, wait, just went to their site... these are:
ReplyDeleteDr. Scholl's Original Women's Wood Exercise Sandal
Exercise sandal? as in sandals in which one would exercise?
hilarious. i do need a pair.
lovely morning: I was hoping they meant you exercise as you wear them, as in your calves get good and buff. I'm going to keep on believing that. Positive thoughts.
ReplyDeletei am so very flattered! Dr. scholl's and uggs are always in my closet - through cool times (like when every celeb in Us Mag was wearing uggs about 4 or 5 years ago, and before that in high school), and totally outdated, uncool times.
