bittman's chilled cucumber soup topped with croutons (we made this 2 nights in a row!)
big ol' batch of tomato and avocado salsa
blue corn tortilla chips

slow cooker bbq'd brisket
corn on the cob
B's favorite avocado and grapefruit salad

tortilla soup with all the fixings (assuming the weather cools down, as promised)
