Help! We got a fancy new juicer recently and are looking for tips..... We like vegetable juices primarily, but a little fruit here and there to make it taste good is fine. We love beets, greens, ginger, everything really. Any good recipes/combinations?

lately though, I have been loving cucumber lemonade-- a whole large cucumber, 2 peeled lemons and an apple for sweetness. So refreshing in the hot weather!

Hope this gives you some good ideas!!
Carrot/ginger/green apples and carrot/orange (or tangerine) are our go-tos. Also, plain watermelon, sprinkled with black pepper. And now I'm pining for summer.
ReplyDeleteWe don't do veggies as much as we probably should, but we do eat lots of them at meals. Mostly, we juice whatever fruit is around, then throw in some herbs: cucumber and pineapple get mint, most everything else gets basil.
I've been enjoying celery, apple, and a small piece of fresh turmeric.
ReplyDeleteMy mom makes the green lemonade when greens are in season here, and it's delicious!
kale, apple, ginger is my families favorite. I blend my greens with a bit of water then strain out the pulp. It's a bit more work but you get a lot more juice.
ReplyDeleteI don't juice for us quite so much (yet) but have been reading and enjoying the information over at beauty that moves
ReplyDeleteshe's got some very good posts and helpful info!
enjoy!
carrot, celery, apple, ginger
ReplyDeleteLoving these ideas! I do 1/2 green apple, 1/2 pear, handful of parsley, 1 carrot, 1 celery, 1/2 cucumber and ginger. Wow...that looks like a lot of stuff, but it is good!!! Lemon is a nice addition, too.
ReplyDeletespinach, apple, lemon, cucumber & parsley is our fav - kids even love it!
ReplyDeleteThis winter, cabbage and apples was quite a hit at our house. For those needing a recommendation for a juicer we have a Breville and we love it. As a matter of fact, we got it a few months ago because we have a Breville citrus squeezer which is absolutely fantastic. We use it everyday.
ReplyDeleteok now i want to juice!
ReplyDeleteI haven't found a favorite yet. They all taste good to me!
ReplyDeletemint is a great addition to any green juice! my favorite is: kale, apple, lemon, celery, mint with a bit of agave.
ReplyDeleteLoving the ideas from your readers, I must get our juicer out of the cupboard again, it is just such a big job to clean it and put it back together each time.
ReplyDeleteGreen Goddess Elixer -- my current favorite! I'll make in the morning and drink throughout the day:
ReplyDelete1 ripe pineapple
2 apples
1/2 lime (including peel - wash first)
1/2 lemon (including peel - wash first)
1 bag organic spinach
5 sticks celery
1 whole cucumber (Including peel - wash first)
Sparkly Pineapple Punch:
1 ripe pineapple
16 strawberries
Sparkling water
Juice the pineapple and strawberries. Pour into 2-3 large wine glasses. Top off with sparkling water. To add a touch of "fancy" (especially fun for a garden party) decorate with a fresh strawberry or pineapple ring, or make some cute fruity ice-cubes with raspberries or small pieces of strawberries inside.
Pine-apple-berry Juice
1/2 pineapple
Handful of raspberries
1 apple
Best Beetjuice
1 beet
4 medium carrots
3 oranges (peeled)
6 apples
Small bunch of parsley
4 strawberries (these make all the difference)
Better than V8
2 tomatoes
1 celery
1/2 apple
2 carrots
Parsley
Slim-down Treat
5 carrots
1 apple
1/2 cucumber
1 celery
1/2 beet
1 inch slice of fresh ginger
My morning fave is simple carrot, apple and beet juice. Two of each and your good to go. Enjoy your new juicer!
