When I first got pregnant this time around, I thought "Oh cool, I'll do a post about outfitting yourself your whole pregnancy long exclusively from
American Apparel!" (Which is pretty much what I did with the other two.) It's great....the clothes are comfortable, don't look "maternity," they are totally affordable, and you can wear them after you have little bambino. Trust me. You'll need the stretch. And I don't know about you, but I HATE Pea in the Pod. Ridiculously overpriced and generally lame clothes.
But someone much cuter than I, and with a husband that take fantastic photos beat me to the punch. The nerve. Take a look at these great belly shots and cute outfits from American Apparel.

My goodness, she's gorgeous. And thanks for the AA recommendation.

Aaaah, I'm in love Ryan. He's such a fantastic photographer and writer!
ReplyDeleteI wish I'd known about this a long time ago. SOOO much cuter than Baby Gap and Old Navy. Was that an AA ensemble you were wearing last Thursday? Very cute!
ReplyDeleteI am glad you like the photo series :) Any recommendations for the final few weeks. It looks like she might just live in some of their loose T-shirts. Thanks for linking back to my place.
ReplyDeletePlease you are *SO* cute, and i would LOVE to see pics of your growing bump clad in AA!!
ReplyDeleteI agree! Pea in the Pod is soooo depressing. I'm going to keep AA in mind for the future...
ReplyDeleteI found cute shirts and skirts by Three Dots on sale at various dept stores (bloomies etc.) and they were very comfortable, especially towards the end.
I've been following this guy's wife on his blog for about two months or so. She rocks those outfits; so cute! Your bump looks adorable by the way. All bump, nothing else! Wish I had known about AA about 2 years ago. Do you shop online or is there a store near you? We don't have any here in NC.
ReplyDeleteKinda makes me want to be pregnant again... Very cute stuff!
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure I could love an idea more. And their execution of it is flawless.
ReplyDeleteI'll try to be as tactful as I can here...but am I the only one who is not into this photo series? I guess I am.

This one makes me want to run SCREAMING from AA.
(sorry I don't know how to make it clickable. but trust me, you WANT to copy and paste that link.)
With my second child I was desperate and didn't care. I probably spent way more than I should have on maternity clothes. The AA stuff is so cute I don't know why I didn't think of that.
ReplyDeletesuper cute - love that striped dress!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful blog!! I'm so happy I followed Joslyn's link!
ReplyDeleteI'm at 20 weeks -- with twins! -- and absolutely must check out the AA clothes. I love how non-maternity they look.
love AA, but what kind of sizing do you do for maternity? one size up from your normal size? thanks!
ReplyDeletejora, please - she is adorable (i posted about just how adorable i think she is a while back. had to throw that out there to give my claim that i do in fact think she's a doll some legitimacy) but the last time i checked you were pretty darn cute yourself!
