Meal Planning Monday....Sorta.

This is going to be a very busy and interesting week. My sister is getting married, B is insanely busy with work, I have a ton to do. All this translates to not many sit-down dinners at home. Still, I want to make sure we are not eating Joe's O's for dinner (again), so I plan to make a few things to tide us over.

pumpkin soup with gruyere and sage croutons

italian sausages with pepper and onions
polenta

smitten's apple and cheddar scones
frittata

Also, I have a favor to ask of you. Tuesday night is Supper Club (yay for that), but I am so far stumped as to what to bring. The theme is All Things Apples, and I signed up for a dessert. Any killer apple dessert recipes you'd like to share by chance??

thanks for the pumpkin soup recipe.. i came home with some pumpkins yesterday and that looks really good!

That pumkin soup sounds amazing! I will have to put this on my pumkin obsession list. For dessert, I always love to make Ina's apple and pear crisp. You can never really go wrong with Ina!

And since I have many apples (and hazelnuts), these two have inspired me to bake a apple 'cake' dessert (instead of a pie or crisp, that I usually lean towards) this week... [the second one is with pears, but apples would work as well!]

Oooh....sounds so delicious! Sounds like someone else is also smitten with smitten kitchen. I will have to try the pumpkin soup from Fine cooking..I tried smitten's winter squash soup and it was very similar ( and tasty)

A different type of apple dessert! "Apples stuffed with walnuts and amaretti." It's easy. OH I bake apple pies on the fly weekly with cute cute cookie cutouts for toppings. Apple pie is so very easy! Apples, sugar, lemon juice and cinnamon and a few dolups of butter!
