The Weekend's Menu.

We had dear friends Bill and Cindy (and their daughter cool is that name by the way?) come stay with us this weekend. This is all we did: talk, eat, hang out by the pool and drink wine. And my parents took C-Man and JuJu for a good potion of it. It was a blessed weekend. Despite my recent absence from the kitchen, I cooked a lot. Nothing too fancy or involved. It was nice to be back in there, however, and feeding the people I love.

Friday Night
Crostini with Prosciutto, Basil and Olive Oil
Pasta Primavera
Orange Cornmeal Cake with Strawberries and Cointreau

Stephanie's Baked Mexican Eggs
Fresh Salsa
Trader Joe's Chocolate Croissants and Berry Turnovers

Lentil Salad with Cucumbers, Tomatoes and Feta

The only trouble with the weekend's cooking and eating is that it has left me tired and uninspired for meals this week. What do you have cooking? Anything good?


  1. Just 'signing off' the computer to create my grocery list and saw your post. Mmmm...that weekend menu has inspired me to think about dinner for the week!

    Tonight- sauteed shrimp lightly breaded w/ panko, w/ pasta and lots of basil.

  2. that orange cornmeal cake sounds so delicious. lately, i'm into any form of chicken with sauteed asparagus (with butter, not just olive oil!) -- but my GO TO bbq meal is this and it is divine. you must try it.

    don't skimp on the coleslaw-- best part (and i'm not even a big fan of coleslaw)!
